I’ve searched through thesamba.com photos, forums, classifieds, all with only a few hits regarding VW related coins, tokens, and medals.
I’m going to try and provide as much detailed information as I can for those who are interested in this topic.
Most people are wanting to know rarity and value, as a coin guy once told me see what people are getting on the market for them, that’s roughly what they’re worth. Also please keep in mind, some people ask for the moon, this doesn’t indicate market value. I will give information for you to base you’re decision off of when it comes to values.
As a collector myself I hope to create a post that can be used to inform, and give more information here in one place. If you can add information to this please do.
I’m a small collector, and have gathered bits of information from original VW employees and their respective family members and beyond.
For starters; this is a VW reference site that I didn’t find very easy to add to BUT had good photos of VW coins I’ve never seen before, but there’s always hope to add to my collection with time.
I will add detailed photos over time with as much info as I have available to me at that time.

These “tokens” were made avaialable during the 1969 Football game season New Orleans Saints from what I understand these were provided in Game day flyers which were purchased for a couple of dollars. They are Aluminium, and come both an Aluminum finish, as well as a ‘gold color’ finish as well. Not certain about the what, or why was for the gold finish but these seem to be rarer than the aluminum.

3 varieties of the same designed “token” for Volkswagen’s milestone of producing 10 Million Volkswagens in 1965.
Examples pictured repectively:
.12oz. / 3.5g - “900” gold
.28oz. / 8g - “1000” silver
1oz. / 28.3g - “1000” silver
10 million Volkswagen
Ten years after producing the one millionth Volkswagen, the company reaches the magic production figure of ten million vehicles. The management and 400 invited international journalists watch live from the 42nd IAA in Frankfurt as the historic vehicle leaves the assembly line at the Wolfsburg plant.
More information about the event can be found under the year 1965 from (V.A.G.) Volkswagen Auto Group:

First off, congratulations! You own a piece of VW history!
Second, the production numbers are unknown, depending on the specific token, we know that the 5 million silver medals were very common (look at ebay, and supply is constant) the 10 million is less common and I’m uncertain if that has to do with limited quantities produced for the ceremony or what exactly. We can determine though through reasoning that silver tokens were produced more than gold and ideally were given to managers, and executives, media, and people of importance at the time. I would imagine the numbers were close to these: as Vw had 84,919 wage earners, and 9,424 salaried staff. The larger the weight the token, the chances the more significant the individual was to VW. Lastly enjoy this piece of history - not everyone has had the opportunity you have. Do you happen to know who received yours and their relation to VW? Or are you unsure? _________________ '57 Ragtop

This token seems to be elusive, and like many of these tokens production numbers are unknown. I have seen a few recently sell for about 2x the spot price. This token is “900” Gold or roughly 21.6 Karat weighing in at 3.5 grams.
It was made to celebrate the production of the 1 millionth Volkswagen Transporter “Bulli” that was completed October 2nd, 1962 @ Wolfsburg.

Here’s a sampling of the same design, the 2 smaller are 900/1000 or 21.6 karat gold. Respectively, 3.49grams & 10.5grams.
Minted by a special division of the Bavarian State Mint, Germany - no longer established.

I came across a tidbit of info regarding the 5 millionth silver VW beetle coin 1000/1000 ~25g, This lead to me reaching out to the company who produced these, the branch of the company no longer exists, but they still have some reference materials.
