Is anybody planning to get together at a brewery this month? My wife and I are re-entering the VW world after selling our '66 Bus a few years back to fund house projects... we have a '68 Ghia coming to us from Oregon and have started looking around for a Syncro to be our camping/off-roading rig. We're interested in meeting folks and discussing experiences, opinions, Subaru swaps (2.5l in a Syncro specifically), tasty beers etc.
Thanks!

Hi Ryan,
We do need to figure out another meet-up. It's a bit harder in the summer because everybody is out enjoying their vans on the weekends, but I'll look at the calendar and try to put something together in the next couple of weeks. Welcome! _________________ Joe T.

I’m totally looking forward to the next one! Joe — I need to get your play-by-play trip report from Rimrocker Trail!

True, but it also stays light out super-late on weekdays...I’d be game for driving my Vanagon to a brewery some day after work.
Later,

I can generally do a weekday evening as well.
Today has been "a day"... I'm texting with the shipper of my '68 Ghia coming from Oregon (purchased 9 months ago form House of Ghia but they've been doing some work to it) to get that arranged AND, I just closed the sale for an '89 Syncro Westy with a Subaru 2.5l conversion... as well as some other nice modifications. First thing I'll have to do is the timing belt etc. I haven't done that before but it seems totally doable in my garage and I can save a few hundred bucks. I won't be getting the Syncro until the end of August... my wife and I will fly out to Pennsylvania and drive it back.
In the mean time I'd love to mean some folks if they're getting together and we can just pretend my wife's Outback or my 1st gen. 4Runner is a VW. |

Hey guys, I've been staying busy working on my Ghia so I haven't really made time for anything otherwise. I'll be heading up to the Left Hand show in a little bit this morning. Say hi if you see me. I'm in the gray Ghia with no bumpers or interior... and I have a big tree on my right leg. |

There's a Boulder club on Facebook but otherwise you're looking at it...We try to get together periodically for a few beers and Vanagon talk. We should discuss the possibility of a more organized approach when we meet up. _________________ Joe T.

With snow and subfreezing temps imminent, I think this Sunday is out. Plus, neither of my Vanagons are currently operational.
Shall we shoot for Sunday, 10/28 at Station 26? _________________ Joe T.
