Love the way your seats turned out. What did you use for padding?

Thanks for the complement! they were done with foam padding, not exactly as original.. but they do have a nice firm feel to them.

A friend of mine has been helping me with the interior work for years, Im always greatful for that. Nothing wrong with tmi but none of this interior is from tmi. Headliner, carpet, door panels and seats were all done from scratch out of his backyard in nearby downtown L.A.

From the start, we just wanted to fix the issues and re-use as much as possible. This 67 was advertised here on samba with no engine and bought by Sophia and Paul. They rented a trailer, drove and picked up the car in Burlingame California. Soon after that, they were able to find and buy an Oct. 66 1500 engine to match the cars' Oct. 66 build date.

The engine was quickly shipped from the east coast to an engine builders shop here in Whittier. The 1500 arrived and we opened the crate. It was completely original but very rough looking with rusted thru sheetmetal.

Everything needed rebuilt and to be refinished. After it was tore down and as we all had hoped, the case was in great condition. It had no cracks or pitting and had never been opened up before. Correct year engine sheetmetal was found to replace the rusted thru stuff. After much work, the engine was rebuilt. The original carb and distributor got the same treatment. All the sheetmetal was powdercoated with a few new parts here and there.

Installed a new windshield to replace an old scratched and pitted aftermarket one. The rest of the glass is original to the car and in nice condition.
