Woohoo! I did something right! The sun even shines on a dog's ass once in awhile, and a broken clock is right at least twice a day.
So, was this a recent purchase? _________________ nothing |

A old garage closed down in the late 70s and sat locked up for many years.
The land got sold and the building was going to be torn down. One of the partners on the business asked me to come by and make an offer on the contents.
Lots of used heavy duty logging truck parts, a Ford parts section and up stairs was the imported car parts- English Ford parts and one shelf with NOS VW parts. The office had all the repair manuals and classic naked babe pictures on the wall and 8 VW repair and parts manuals.
The guy asked me if I would interested in it all- I said yes
He asked how much I had on me at the time. I said $50 he said "sold" now get it all out of here
I got 2 cube van loads and filled my Bay van with all the "Gold"
I eBay'd a lot but still have the VW stuff and used plenty of the parts.
The most interesting find was a NOS Wolfsburg crest and base
cheers

Sounds familiar. Way to go Hank!
Back in the early 1990's a local mechanic (who used to be a VW trained and dealership mechanic) that used to have his own independent VW shop invited my buddy and I to come see and pick through his stock which was moved to his basement in his home. We gladly accepted. Long story short - he really just wanted it all gone. "Take it all for well under $1K?" Not even worth dickering on the price!
"You bet your butt I will!"
We got lots and lots of NOS boxed VW parts, lots of good used parts, some "core" parts and lots of dealership manuals, lots of vehicle owners manuals, and a stack of those "Without Guesswork" VW mechanic pocket booklets. Lots of Type 3 and 4 NOS parts which I immediately sold off to delighted buyers on the Samba.com long ago. The coolest goodie that I remember from that stash was an original VW taller "Sunroof" version wood slat roof rack in pristine condition which now often rides atop my 1955 Deluxe Sunroof Beetle.
Ah the good old days! He was happy, we were HAPPY!!!

I think this Most random NOS part? thread is getting a little off track - these are supposed to be Bus related items.
The Wolfsburg crest and gas cap are cool but they are for Beetles. There are lots of polish cans out there - this one doesn't "look" NOS. _________________ My Beetles :

I was wondering if that gas cap accessory fits a Bus cap?
I removed the Beetle badge as off topic.
Agree on the polish can, It doesn't look NOS to me.
Used ones are out there pretty regularly, it's only a matter of money.
Edit: He removed it. Ok. _________________ How to Post Photos

In the spirit of keeping this thread interesting, I bring this to the table. An NOS center pillar section with safari tab welded on. Why it isn't complete is way beyond me!

This is my winner for the day. NOS barndoor wiper arms. Bases are aluminum and anodized. They look chromed.
These and the sunvisor are up for grabs from George @ the Butcher Shop. (this isn't an advertisement!) I kinda wish they were mine for a while though!

Wonder if it has a part number? Maybe it was used as a reference for the assembly line guys when an M-code for safaris came on the line. |
