Quick question, is the -5 swing axle not being used anymore? Looks like they are discontinued. Sorry if I'm behind the times I'm still a little new to the racing world. |

Type 2 stuff has surpassed a lot of the Type 1 stuff, so no, 5 inch axles aren't too common anymore. Check with Lummis, and Erco if you're still looking. |

I'd check with Folts state side as well....then go Finnish with Kuplapaja Oy if you can't find it state side. The Finnish stuff is awesome quality, but you'll have a long wait and high shipping to get it here.
Folts is doing replacable faceplate shipping for 3-4, but it's permanent on 1-2 until you cut off and reweld. The Finnish clutchless seems to be permanent on all gears.

If you can afford the Kuplapaja axkes, then the $50 for shipping wont be anything. I found a set of -5 axles last year o FB, on a drag race buy and sell page.

Guys,
Thank you for your input, you confirmed my suspicion. These drag bugs are not common in my neck of the woods so I’m a little naive to the norm. I think I’m going to reconfigure to the 23-11/16 axles since I’ve invested this far into type 1 parts and start gathering type 2 stuff for a later upgrade. Again thanks for the help. |
