Hello guys, I stupidly took out all relays and regulator in a blind panic when buying parts, long boring ridiculous story, but I cannot fathom out the wiring configuration for them, looked online but got nowhere, I have two relays under back seat, is this normal? Just wondering if anyone out there had photos of theirs or any advice for me? Cheers 👍 she’s a 1971 type 3 Squareback automatic.

Did you try looking at the wiring diagrams in the Technical section?

Have the '71 Bentley Color wiring diagram blown up to 11"X17" at Kinkos etc and laminated. It makes it much easier to trace down wiring!

The small 1" box like relay is for the rear heated window (when it worked). The larger relay is for the FI. Both of these sit side by side on/at the top of the rear foot wall (by the seat hinge on the left side). In the Technical Section is a blow up for the standard type 3 wiring (you'll have to bring it up thru the menu, as it defaults to bus (T2)). However, there aren't any FI wiring schematics listed. A PM to Phil (KT Phil) might get you a copy as I believe he has an Elfrink manual with them listed in it (Russ used to have a clickable link for them).
I hope this helps.

Definitely need to blow that one up. I can barely see it with my glasses on. Laughing

Wow! Thanks so much for the responses guys, I’ve managed to get it all back together with your help 👍 unfortunately now the coils aren’t sparking 🤦‍♂️🤯 before I start posting again on starting related issues, could this have something to do with my shonky handywork on the relay front? 🤔 thanks again for all your help ✌️

Unless you knocked the power wire to the coil off the fuse box while messing with the front relay. Do you have 12 volts at the coil?

Hello bobnotch, it is a possibility, you are dealing with one clumsy bellend here, I have only touched the two relays under the back seat, but may have boiled some wires and fuses connecting it up wrong. I’ll let you know now, I am a complete novice and never done this before, so apologies for my ridiculous questions, not sure about the voltage yet, shall check tomorrow, thanks man

You might have bumped a wire off the regulator, under the back seat near where you were working.

That's the problem Phil, he was working on both ends.
