I hope the mods will allow this?

Some of you may like the T1 camper Lego set.

There is now an option to get the Bay Window as a set to. Only thing is, it needs 10.000 Shocked 'supporters' before Lego even thinks about making it.

I do think it's worth a try though. I would be cool to have one for sure!

So give your support here.

Supporter #1352. Would be cool to add this to my Split camper bus. I would have made it a full bay rather than a pickup truck tho

Norton74 is a fantastic builder. He's got many more creations over on his Flickr page. There's so much good stuff, but I'd take any VW LEGO sets we can get!

I remember this popping up somewhere else, I hope it works. the $120 splitty camper was fun to build.

also if the single cab goes into production; Robbie you better nab a couple on 50% day.

Ack! Don't put the jack stands on the jacking points! You'll crush them!

Here was my reinvention of the splitty camper model, as a RHD double cab:

And I would definitely go for that bay single cab model if Lego offered it.

I have a spare set of the T1 camper... how would you guys start on creating this custom things. Do you first make the original set and start tearing it apart?

That would be one way to do it.

For my RHD DC (above) I looked at the instructions for much of it, and built out the parts that fit my plan. Then I used the extra parts, as well as a lot of extra Lego blocks (I needed a lot of red 1x blocks) from the bin. Everyone has a Lego bin, right? Smile

You’ll learn a lot about the shaping and tricky building techniques by building the complete original model first.... From there, you’ll probably want a ton of small red, white, and black pieces. Look into online videos and pictures of S.N.O.T. LEGO building techniques. I could go on for hours.... I’ll keep it to three minutes below Wink

For us Early Bay types, I wonder if you can turn that poptop around and put the luggage rack at the back?
