hi,

This thread can hopefully be a place to find info about the Riviera camper faucets.

I have some info on the pump faucet (I'll provide this below) but I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to find a replacement faucet for the "city water" tap on the sink.

City Water Faucet

If anyone has any info on this "city water" faucet, please share.

It accepts a single large flat head screw on one end (to anchor it),
and takes a hose (5/8", I believe) through the hole in the counter.

In my searches on the forums, some people have mentioned finding a suitable replacement at a RV store but I have not been able to do so.

Tank Faucet

As for the other faucet (the hand pump), I have found suitable replacements and can offer a bit of info about those to help others:

The original was the Coleman Model 2231

------------------------------------------------------------

the most direct replacement is the "Rocket" hand pump... TMC BC 742-1

it is also sold by Five Oceans

The Coleman original handle swaps over and threads on, but the shorter knob is preferable because of the clearance to the neck.
------------------------------------------------------------

There is also this unit that should swap in direct but may have quality issues

JR #97025..seems common at RV supply places..
Apparently it's not very well made though, a lot of complaints about it breaking.
------------------------------------------------------------

I believe another option (I have not tested this one) for a direct fit would be the Valterra RP800 ...

I have not tested it (yet), however..

I've been happy with the Valterra in my camper, though it's not a Riviera.

Thanks for the post!!! Mine is leaking and wondered if I can fix it or not. Haven't taken it apart yet. It's in great shape otherwise, but I may have to get the "Rocket"....

A little update, the apparently impossible-to-find-a-replacement city water faucet.... while still without any replacement in sight... I've disassembled it, and it does appear to be fully rebuildable!.

I plan to update with progress after I'm done going through it.

It just seems to need a 3/8" ball (easily sourced from McMaster-Carr) in the valve, and a series of O-rings ....

I might investigate a similar process on the Coleman hand pump faucet, but with the replacements so plentiful & easy to get ... it's a little less compelling.

Coleman pump is serviceable as long as the plastic and potmetal hold up. I overhauled mine best I could over the 2003/04 winter and it worked fine but always leaked water around the handle in use. It could have been reamed out and had a bushing installed but I didn't have access to the tools needed at the time, so when I found the Valterra in a wrecked Ford Class B motorhome/campervan I snagged it...

bringing back the dead.

the other day I found some coleman rebuild kits for the old 2231 pump at a camper and rv parts store. The packages were dated from 1970 but the seals inside work just fine!

no rebuild instructions but operation instructions, I figured I would share.

the kit includes:

1) plastic bottom to metal top cork seal
1) rubber plunger seal
1) Handle seal
2) spigot seals

the cork seals are all a little warped from sitting since the 70's but I rebuilt my pump in about an hour and it works like brand new! no priming or leaking.
the Key is to not use the full stroke, as after seeing the instructions, going to full up is draining. using about half stroke it primes and pumps fast!
