I have some fairly new looking cylinder heads i pulled off of a stockish 1600cc engine i recently tore down in order to build a stroker 2017cc motor. I cannot see any casting stamps or markings on these identifying them except for these two. Anybody know what brand or type they are? Are they a good candidate for port and polishing and valve job for a future smaller engine build?

They look like newer Chinese manufacture heads, IAP or Kuhltek come to mind.

Take note of the etched markings near the exhaust port in the pic on their page: Kuhltek 041 head _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga"

What size are the valves? Typical 35.5mm intake and 32mm exhaust as per carbureted dual-port engines? If there are no cracks going from either valve to the spark plugs and the guides are held firmly in place by the press fit, IMO any dual-port head can benefit from mild to moderate port work and a 3-angle valve job.
In this article, the heads are those from fuel-injected Beetles with smaller valves than above, and had very minor work done to them. But in a later installment, the engine made surprisingly good power.
