hi out there — we have a 1982 diesel vanagon
we replaced the 1.6 engine with a 1.9 AAZ diesel turbo.
we got a new fuel injector pump
the van starts and idles well, but at any higher rpm there is a knocking sound. sounds like maybe a piston? it also has very little power. topping out at 50 mph.
our mechanic doesn’t know what else to try. he has adjusted the timing three times now... any thoughts out there?
some other facts:
blows smoke of color between white and light blue.
when you pull the choke there is no change |
