Has anyone ever made one?
I have a 59 euro bug and it has aftermarket window washers installed but there's no washer bottle. I know originally they had aftermarket glass bottles available that mounted into a metal frame. It's mega expensive to buy original ones (and repro's of), so I'm thinking a making one!
A square Jack Daniels bottle seems too be he ideal starting place but I'm wondering if anyone has tried this before. Is there an issue with the pressure in the bottle? Hmmm... is this a crazy idea? ...thoughts? |

A champagne bottle would definitely deal with the pressure. _________________ "Albatross"! |

Were the early accessory washers pressurised like the stock units? I was under the impression they used a manual pump to operate them so the reservoir wouldn't really see any pressure. _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |

I haven't owned one to know, but I've seen that, too. It was later ('62?) that they went to the pressurized tank, and then still later connected it to the spare.
Early non-pressurized style:

What a clever idea! Keep us posted regarding its effectiveness especially in handling the pressure. |

As long as you don't need a spare looks like it will work. _________________ Chris
