You have to be cautious with many ebay sellers these days. This is someone who is reselling returns and close out inventory. You can see the 10 negative feedback in the past month. They sell a lot of stuff so maybe the percentage is not terrible but ebay does everything they can to prevent you from leaving negative feedback on high volume sellers. A clutch is probably o.k. and may be just inventory from a store closing.
I bought something from an ebay seller advertised as new - open box and it was an amazon return still in the amazon return package. What they do is buy pallets of returns for pennies on the dollar and give them a quick look over and then sell then a little bit below retail and try to hide the fact that it was a returned item.
In my case, the item was used and damaged but you had to take it out of the box to see it. I tried to leave negative feedback and the ebay system said you cannot leave negative feedback for a power seller until at least 7 days has past. WTF. I emailed the seller and they emailed a return postage label and refunded me a week later but my ordered said cancelled by customer and I couldn't leave any feedback.
Buyer beware at ebay these days. |

Yeah, I received a clearly used&broken A/C hose crimping tool from Fleabay about a month ago. Went round & round with the seller, asking for either a replacement or to return it for a full refund, included pictures of the use and damage. They kept offering partial refunds of up to 20% (after a week of back and forth) and tried pushing some "have it fixed locally" BS on me. After 7 days you can get eBay involved, which I did, and got all my money back *and* didn't have to ship back the broken tool. I've since fixed it, and while it's a little kludgy it does get the job done.
Before anyone gets on me about ethic, I'd have been happy to send it back. I'd also have been happy to fix one sold as "parts or repair" at a discount. I have a huge problem paying full retail for what's listed and sold as a new item, then receiving a broken used item that has to be fixed. And since the seller kept refusing to make it right despite having 10+ more of the same tool listed in the ebay store .. screw 'em. |

Got mine today as well. In factory sealed box, all looks right, even a German made Sachs release bearing.
Dates codes 2017, heck of a deal, thanks Marco.

My set up came yesterday as well. All top quality parts. I tried to verify the part numbers on the box and could not cross them up to a Vanagon.
Has anyone been able to verify the part numbers on the box?

It'll fit the OE 228mm Vanagon flywheel.

Got mine today. The box seemed slightly damaged. Box was glued shut. Everything inside seemed new. This is the first clutch/pressure plate I've ever seen or held, so I got my dad to overlook it and he said it looks fine.
Thanks Marco for the heads up. Hopefully it'll sit in the garage for awhile before I need it! _________________ Brandon
