Hello all. This is my '66 microbus. I got it in February and have been doing bits and pieces on it round other work since. It's a very early '66, production date is 6th July '65. It was exported to Sweden, to an island called Alno where I reckon it was used as a minibus/school bus or similar. It then lived in a field under trees for decades, hence the lichen and moss. It's weirdly rusty in that lots of bits are good, better than it looks, but some bits are really bad. the bottom of the bulkhead, front floor support and outriggers and chassis rails, crossmember, and sills are kippered.

Me too. The originals are underneath. They seem quite well made, I wondered if they might have been a dealer option or similar.
Some pics of the rot.

Good freakin' Gawd!
You certainly are ambitious, even in the 21'st century that one would be Sawzall bait around here.
Good luck with your project and please post updates. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Wow, that is an ambitious project. It is calling out for a complete frame replacement. Good luck, double door buses with windows are pretty rare. _________________ September 1964 Standard Sunroof walk through SWR/BG original paint. |

I should mention that I've already done a load of work, I'll try and catch up over the next few days with pics.
Started with chassis repairs. Got the main rails made up in Zintec.
