Interesting! I have not heard of that product, it sounds like something I would like to try. A picture of the container would be very useful if you could please!
Thanks! |

Not the best photo but probably good enough to be able to describe what I did, which was basically use parts you can get cheaply at any hardware store:
I have Berg 42 DCNFs. That kit has a rectanguar air cleaner that sandwiched a filter between a base and a metal top secured with four long studs and nuts from the base. I made a metal "box" to replace the filter elements, sealing it between the base and top with silicone.
I cut a circular hole in the outside "long" side of each airbox and affixed a 2" ABS threaded adapter thru each hole and secured it with glue and an adapter nut. I put a short section, maybe 1 1/2" of 2"ABS pipe on the outside of the box. A short section of pipe sticking out of the adapter. From there, using a combination of Fernco fittings and more ABS, I plumbed between the airboxes and to a Donaldson industrial motor (think forklift) 3 stage air filter mounted on my spare tire carrier.
I run all summer on dirt roads in the Northwest. My oil stays clean and I no longer have my air cleaners near the major dust generating components on my car: the rear tires. If I break any part of this system, I'm not spending hundreds and waiting a week after ordering parts on the internet...I can go to any hardware store and have the parts I need in 10 mins. That has been unnecessary though...I haven't broken anything in two years of hard use.
If there is interest in anyone seeing more pics, pm me. I don't post on or visit this forum much anymore. |
