All - I'm looking to put seatbelts in the back of my 1967 Beetle, and I thought of using 1968 receivers (as opposed to aftermarket or dealer installed 1967 ones) and rewebbing the belts. However, I can only seem to find the receivers and not the other side (with the tongues that go into the latches). Am I searching on the wrong terms, or are these things not normally sold?

I feel like I'm missing something, but I'm not sure how to find the other side of the 1968 seatbelt.

Thanks for any help!

-Harry

Could you post a picture of what style you are looking for? I have a couple in garage that might work for you. Casey

Thanks! I somehow missed that your post came through. Below is a picture of one of the 1968 Seatbelt receivers.

I'm wondering if I don't see tongues because (perhaps) this style was only for the front seats, which had a combined two tongue device attached to the center hump.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Tongue is correct.. but you wont find it often that way.. Most common term incorrectly used. Buckle.
Male.. or Female. Wink

Many variations in design throughout the years ..
Since you plan to reweb them anyway.. it would be much simpler just have this seller pull you a matched working pair.. and buy them to reweb.

I have a pair of seatbelts (male) from 1968. They are from the front seat though. If interested send me a PM. Casey
