I don't think it is a Porsche tach but could be wrong. The 6200 redline is about right for an early 80's 911 but that seems to be a bit smaller and a lot older than that.

Early 911s could wind up to almost 8K and 912s came from the factory with a mark starting about 5800. Maybe a Mercedes or ? Very cool though and 12V, you could always throw it on a starter stand. I use a 912 tach on mine...

i can't tell you exactly, but it is audi for sure, the 825 part # tells me this, also the typography on it.
