Odd question. Would anyone know where to look for old VW dealer parts catalogues, or maybe have some from the mid to late 70's? Nowadays a lot is digital. Back then, if they needed to order parts, they had to flip through books.

A search of theSamba classifieds for "catalog" in the literature/manuals section yields a good selection. I am partial to the Rocky Mountain Motorworks catalogs as they used VW parts numbers and are quite thorough.

I’ve got a small collection of parts catalogs from Bap-Geon, WorldParts,Carquest, NAPA, Beck Arnley and a few others. All from the late 60’s/early 70’s Good for reference and if there’s a price sheet that’s always good for a laugh.

Thanks for the replies. I'm looking for Ghia catalogs from the 73-74 era. Are the ones in the links actually sent out to dealerships? I'm looking for a part number, specifically the thin red vent tube coming off the top of my oil bath air cleaner on my 74.

Sorry, I overlooked the word "dealer" in your question. The ones I linked are independent aftermarket suppliers that sold to the public.

I've got a few, like Rocky Mountain and 1986 Johnny's Speed and Chrome.

I sure hope I still have the Autohaus or Bughaus late 1970s catalog; the back cover had a photo of a real hottie wearing one of their halter tops !!!
