Looking for some ideas as far as wheel choices for a 356 kit car. 4 lug, would change to 5 if was absolutely necessary. Wide in the rear as it a wide body
Thanx

Gasburners, Sprintstars or Super Speeds get my vote. But if it were mine I'd change to 5 bolt and go with widened 66-67 VW wheels with slots

There is a fairly limited choice in 4 bolt. My classic body has had chrome Mangles with nipple hubcaps, Porsche 914 Italian Pedrini alloys and now Porsche 914 2L Fuchs. Porsche 914 light weight Mahle "gas burner"alloys are also out there. These have all been 5.5" wide 15" diameter - spacers could be used to fill out the wheel well with probably 205 width rear tires. There are reproductions of most of these too.

If you went to the Porsche 911 tight (130mm x 5) 5 bolt pattern wheels (changing discs/drums to correct bolt pattern), there is a larger variety of wheels available to include 16' and 17" diameter wheels with various offsets.

Some think going to 5 bolts is the old VW/Porsche wide fives (205mm x5 ). This cuts down the range of wheels available plus probably requires a change in brake assemblies used. I would not advise aftermarket wheel adapters.

There are some new 17" Fuchs look-like wheels that VS has used on their widebody/ultra widebody cars. You can probably see some at speedsterowners.com.
