Looks good type1, I put a new to me intake on mine to , I found it on here in the classifieds. It was in France and it came off an industrial engine so the heat risers were clear for sure. I paid more in shipping than I did for the intake. I had bought a new after market SP intake that was not made very well it had the carb leaning back toward the fan shroud. Breather all most didnt fit.

From what I can see your dash piece goes to the floor dont see many like that.

Hello Type1abody,
Lets keep the post to a minimum, I originally created the forum for Empi Sportster owners to share ideas and their rides. Keep us up to date with your Empi.

I think the REAL question is:
Where did that roof panel come from? Flat Fender Jeep CJ2a/3a????

That is a good question, like most kit cars you could add other parts with a little work.

Summer is around the corner, let some more Empi Sportsters out there.

A friend's grandfather had a late 1940s Jeep CJ2A "hunting Jeep" that had a half cab that made it into a sort of pickup truck, with a very similar roof panel made of aluminum.

Making some headway on the ‘sportster’. Debating on redoing the windshield and maligning it closer to the original plans. What are people using for the glass?

While I have always liked the standard EMPI Sportster. I like this one a whole lot too. it's quite unique, and well done.

I like the slant to the windshield. Making the windshield like standard, makes it follow the rest of the sheep. That would move the base of the windshield back about 3-4", looking at photos.

The really cool roof fits it now. And moving it would substantially reduce the door opening, making it harder to get in and out. And would make it look strange besides. It would take lots of work to do, especially to do as well as it is. Aerodynamics would suffer on a vehicle that's suffering quite badly as it is. Whether it would make it look more cool is really a subjective issue. One man's beauty is another man's ugly. And vice-versa. To me the easy answer is that it would be a bunch more to ugly.

Glad you all are making necessary repairs, most important you made it home in one piece.

Lets get some new Empi Sportster pics up.

Went to Empi Inc in Anaheim this weekend, it was cool but no Empi Sporsters around.
