I have been shocked at how ineffective my 1993 Eurovan's headlights are and have decided to do something about it.
After much ebay'ing I pulled the trigger on a pair of these headlights. I am now waiting on their arriva, they don't ship very quickly. I am preparing to do a dive into my dash to complete some heater repairs and want to tackle wiring for the headlight at the same time if I can manage it.
I want to put in new wiring for my headlight, I intend to buy a relay kit from somewhere. Does anyone have a source for headlight relay kits these days? I can see at one point that a Daniel Stern from `http://mbz.org/` used to provide kits of this sort. mgz.org however appears to be a dead webpage. I think I have found Dan's new site at http://www.danielsternlighting.com/ . I just fired off an email to them but in the event that does not work out, does anyone have any suggestions for where to secure a relay kit?
I am open to using a more generic relay kit and adjusting it to my needs but I would prefer something more custom fit to my application if possible. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
If you are reading looking to replace your own headlights I'd suggest these threads:

One of your links includes my old post quoted below, but I thought I would follow-up on it. I am super happy with the E-code lights. The pig-tail wiring harness worked great. I have been told I would have even better lighting by replacing the whole harness. However, based on my current light output, a whole new wiring harness does not seem to be necessary.

I've done the same thing to my '93 and the difference is remarkable. Here's what you'll need:
Pigtails or a new wiring harness (I went with pigtails for now but plan to upgrade the harness in the future):

Headlight assemblies:
Search Ebay Germany for " VOLKSWAGEN T4 FRONT LIGHTS SHORT NOSE HELLA GENUINE TRANSPORTER " or " Scheinwerfer Set rechts + links H4 orig. Hella VW T4 Transporter ". I believe you'll need to search for long nose assemblies though.
Light bulbs. I went with High-Efficiency H4 55/60W, but believe that the 80/100W would also work:

I hope this helps...

Replacement bulb? I'd suggest picking up a set of Euro H4 complete replacement headlamps. Then run relays and high powered bulbs. I have them in my T4 DoKa, the lighting is literally stunning. |
