I responded to 2 ads they placed on 11/04/18. The carburetors shown were in excellent condition and were described as such.
Requested in email that the carburetors be wrapped in cardboard with additional cardboard placed in between to prevent them from banging into one another for 2000+ miles during shipping.
Spoke to them and agreed to buy an additional 2 carburetors on the phone and again asked for them to be individually wrapped in cardboard and additional cardboard placed in between them. Seller said no problem, they would be pack as requested and placed in a heavy duty box to insure safe delivery.
Seller said that they would get a shipping quote and call me on 11/05 or 11/06. Received a call from the seller and sent a money order via USPS Priority which they received on 11/08.
I agreed to their price and shipping quote.
Carbs and manifolds were shipped on 11/12 and arrived on 11/19. When I picked up the box, it made a clanking noise like it contained a bunch of broken dinner plates.
The carburetors had been put in seperate gallon freezer bags and put on the bottom of the box. There were square sheets of bubble wrap thrown into the box along with the 2 manifolds and 3 pieces of cardboard thrown on top. All 4 of the carbs were hitting one another and 2 of the carbs were getting pounded by the manifolds that were laying on top. The box was very light duty and had numerous holes in the sides from the carbs trying to work their way out of the box during shipping.
I called them on 11/19 with no answer and emailed them on 11/19 with pictures of all of the damages. I do realized that this is Thanksgiving week, so I am being patient and giving them the benefit of the doubt, but I did not receive what I paid for, in the condition that they were advertised and assured that they would arrive in. |

The seller finally responded after several unanswered calls and emails.
Pat emailed and said that she would send money for return shipping and send me a refund after they received the carburetors back.
She claimed that the carburetors were well packed (which they were not-they were Ziploc bags and beat one another during the entire shipping process) and that everyone else in California that she shipped to had no complaints (the other items that she was selling at the time were small and not fragile or easily damaged).
As of 12/10/18 I have not received any money for return shipping, nor have I heard from her again. |
