Long story but is there a simple way to make a 2012 Jetta not be able to drive that can be easily reversed when I need the car? Maybe make it so the shift lock won't release? This has to do with my father who has dementia. Tried just taking the keys but that caused major issues. _________________ Mic

Thin piece of plastic between the battery clamp & post.
Remove one of the big ass fuses in the fuse panel behind the battery, remove them one at a time until it doesn't start.
Find the screw in the middle of the fuse panel behind the battery, loosen it & pull up on the fuse panel, this will unplug the whole unit from the car, replace cover. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Sorry to hear about your challenges.
I would agree with the battery clamp suggestion. |

September 11, 2001, I barrowed my Mother's car, and I never returned it.
There were no airplanes, and I needed to return to work.
She had wrecked it twice, second time she nearly killed someone else.
She had Alzheimer’s, and never accepted the diagnosis, because she had no short term memory by the time this happened.
We had spent the end of August moving her to Olympia, Wa. so my Sister could care for her.
Funny thing is she had no problem remembering I stole her car.
This is something that your Parent will never forgive you for doing, but it has to be done. _________________ Good Luck

We pulled a fuel pump relay on our Volvo to stop a relative in need of not-driving. _________________ .ssS! |

where is the fusebox? you can replace a fuse with a tap that extends the wires so you can add a hidden switch (and fuse) w/o making a perm change to the wiring in the vehicle.
use 2 of these, one on each leg.. of a BLOWN fuse..
then wire off the interrupted circuit.
