Hello Everyone. I need some advice about a cache' of VW Books I have been offered. Five banana boxes full, about 25 in each, mostly hardcover/softcover repair/ vintage photo, books by various authors and vintage, mostly Beetle related, manuals, some Clymers, one Idiot manual, some dealer ephemera, did not see many doubles. All good shape.
My question is: He is offering them for $250 for everything, breaks down to about $2.00 each, Is there a lot of demand for these old books, does anyone collect ? Interested in the whole lot ? Can I sell these easily for 5-10 each ? I see most books in the classifieds average about $15. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Helmut |
Buy the whole lot. In my experience, books sell very, very well at VW swap meets. |

Yes, I'd say at $2 each you should be able to at least make your money back.
Some will probably sell easily, some will be more difficult.
It really depends what they are.
The "idiot guide" books sell really easily in person. _________________ How to Post Photos

Hey t3kg,
After some research, I found out that I have one of the same letterpress blocks. I would love to hear what you have learned about them. I purchased mine at a estate sale about 10 years ago.

Trying to track down a copy of a 1966 English VW Dealership Sales Bulletin...
"Quick Roundup" Issue #313 from July, 1 1966. Contains an article entitled "One millionth to the Millers" about the 1 millionth Type2 Bus exported... a 1966 Red and White Standard Micro taken as a tourist delivery by the Miller family of Michigan.
Anyone out there holding this??? I've already checked with Lind.. all I am looking for is a scanned PDF of the Bulletin #313 but I would also be interested in purchasing the original if someone has it and is willing to part with it.
Thanks, Andy

Cool old map I scored off eBay with a great advert for the Quebec Bus Tour Co. which utilized a 23 window deluxe. _________________ Yeah I like Herbie AND New Beetles. Got a problem with it? Tough.

I just bought another “Dein KdF wagen” brochure. What I noticed was that some (not all!) pages are printed in a blue color, but most pages are just black and white.
I have no doubt about it being original or not, but has anyone seen this before??
For comparison I have photographed the two brochures side by side.....

I like Porsche's Auto Union racer in the last drawings.
Rear engine, swing axles, trailing arms...
But despite weighing about the same as the Bug, it Had 500hp, not 25!
If you floored it at 100mph you spun/smoked the rear tires!
