Congrats!
I got an email from DHL yesterday saying mine will be delivered in California tomorrow. But that appears unlikely -- as of this morning it still shows as "shipment information has been received." It is apparently not in transit yet. _________________ Gone but not forgotten: 1950 Hoffman split (restored in 1966) - another 1950 Hoffman split (restored in 1996) |

I just looked again and suddenly there are almost a dozen in-transit scans. They weren't there two hours ago.
Anyway, it's in the US and has cleared Customs already so it looks like delivery tomorrow is actually likely. Can't wait! _________________ Gone but not forgotten: 1950 Hoffman split (restored in 1966) - another 1950 Hoffman split (restored in 1996) |

Got mine today. It is a lavish and beautiful book. I'm glad to have it on my bookshelf.
After looking through this book, it seems to me that the Beetle is unique among vehicles in that it is such a humble and unassuming car, with no obvious glamour, sex appeal, or appeal to the wealthy and powerful, yet is the object of such love and attention, as evidenced by this book, and in the restoration of Christian's VW38 and the WrennMetallWerks '47, among others. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

Boy I hope I get mine soon, but I haven't even received a shipping notice yet.
But in all fairness DHL can really suck at times, they are very inconsistent. |

Mine arrived on schedule early yesterday evening. I skimmed through it and my jaw dropped. Pretty amazing stuff. Now I'm reading it from the beginning, studying each picture as I follow along.
The English translation is flawless.

Hello guys!
Sorry for coming back to you this late with some updates
Firstly I would love to THANK all of you on behalf of the whole KdF41 team for purchase of the book and we hope you will LOVE IT!
Secondly please understand that we are just few guys who also have regular jobs and we are trying our best The book should be at your doorstep before Christmas for sure!!!
And lastly I just wanted to clarify the DHL "problem" we had.
What happened is that DHL created a database which automatically sends a notification to recipients of the package as soon as it is created. But the problem was that at the time the database was created we did not received the labels to print and stick on the packages from DHL. This was a simple human error on DHL side, it happens
So that led to situation when some people got a notification that the package is on the way but in reality the package was sitting in our "warehouse" and was waiting for the label to be sticked on in.
All is sorted now and your book/calendar/poster or whatever you ordered is on the way or will be on the way so you get the package before Christmas!
If there is still someone who wants the book, you can order it on our website www.kdf41.com.
Have a great day!
Your KdF41 |

This car and especially the book sets totally new standard to restoration ethics and dedication. (just love the mix of og paint parts and corroded spots/pittings on fresh painted parts - not overrestored. rather preserved) Well done guys ! _________________ Hotrods, Fords, Veedubs and Triumph Twins !

I got the first edition signed book and poster....ITS FUCKING AMAZING
I can't wait to have the poster (its really a huge photograph) professionally framed and matted.
the book is incredible. I LOVE how much information about the history and story of the car, and how Brom discovered everything, is told.
wonderful photos and documentation! I wish some of the other significant restorations in recent years were able to share with us as much as this book does. _________________ drive your split. |

Thank you very much for your words, guys.
There are a couple of boys who refurbish cars. The problem is that they do not have the time and the mood to make a book.
See http://www.samsgarage.org/
Maybe you know someone like this, give me a link. |

It's great to see such important projects been documented for all of us to enjoy. I pledged ,can't wait to read the book! |
Thank you very much for the support!
We will use the money raised by this Kickstarter for a new project we have in mind so in a few years you might be seeing another renovation document
(if we raise enough ) |
I hope this will be the next episode ,personally I wouldn't mind if this time has 700 pages and weights 4kg. _________________ http://www.komenda-porsche-designer.at/

I ordered the book for myself as a Christmas gift so I was literally waiting for Santa Claus to deliver it. I finished reading the book yesterday and, to say the least I was not disappointed. Quite the contrary, the project was so fascinating that I immediately went onto ebay to get myself some of the reference literature to learn more about the KdF cars. Great work!
