Never posted here but read a lot so this is a first one for me to post here. Coming from the aircooled world I wanted to check if any of you opened the Pandora box of performance exhaust but DIY - sort of?
So here's how my Pandora box opened
One of my buddies told me "you got to go old school on this one" since I had to rebuild the engine anyway.

The engine has 96mm P&C with corrected CR, solid lifters, W110 cam, 1.25 rockers, updated injectors, external oil cooler and a sidewinder exhaust.

I started with an 1 5/8" sidewinder

It was OK but I changed it later because, in my opinion, it was too close to the tire but if you don't have a cat it's perfect.

I think I spend like $320 on it plus my welding and soldering but it sounds like an aircooled VW now Smile.

Anyone did something similar?

Good on you!

Having followed 10cent’s development here and on the STF years ago.. I have wanted to monkey with the type1 exhaust offerings. Improvise, adapt and overcome...
