My blue fuse number three which is the one that seems only attached one side and labelled on the wiring diagram as accessory keeps blowing when I try to slip in another one. Prior to this the ignition switch was sporadic as to contact when you turned the key. I dropped the ignition switch out to see if there was an obvious short in the wires touching and all seem isolated. It is an original Porsche 356 B (1962) ignition switch. Do you think it is that the switch is BAD and shorted internally?

Try unplugging the ignition switch wires so they are not touching anything then put in a fuse.

That's clever. I get it. I should have thought of that to rule in or out the switch. I will do that this weekend.

Thanks,

Fred

OK so it is NOT the switch. But FUSE #3 just blows and when I turn the key, nothing at all. #3 has the main power into it. Is it something like the coil? Any suggestions welcome. Fred Adler, San Diego

Trace the wire that it feeds till you find the short.

This wiring diagram shows F-3 as not being used! So unless something does not work just leave it out. There would need to be an error in the cars 30 wire wiring for this to blow when the IG switch comes on. It could be a short on the fuse block!
