Its a sweet bus. I hadn't seen it since the Atascadero show but his wife was at Kelley Park with it this year and she parked next to me. (see above photo)

Is Frank still alive? We got to go to his place back in the mid '90s after a Solvang show. It was an amazing place! Super cool guy.

technically that is NOS, but the guy is dreaming. I think you can see those used for $5 at a swap, and they'll sit there all day.
If it was a VDO tach made for VW in the 50s or 60s, it would be worth it.
And all the bug guys woudl want it too.
It is hard to find a good pic of a accessory tach.

How many times has the odometer crossed 7k miles? That's what I'm wondering...unless in the first 7,659 miles - just before parking it - they ran it hard and had to replace all of those stock items with whatever, including paint, and then hit 7,660 as it rolled into the "barn." I also need less information and shittier pictures; that would make me less of a whiny mofo hahaha.

| That crusty bus was on little rock Arkansas Craigslist for $500 last summer. Some guy bought it from Tennessee and flipped it on the samba asking I think $5000 at first and the last I saw it listed for was $3500 I think. I asked for other pics when it was on Craigslist. It wasn't worth the 8 hour round trip and $500 then. Looks like someone added front doors to it though. |
