Incredible fab work!

How does it drive? Are you happy with the on road handling and the 2.0 aba?

I like the use of the bulkhead from behind the seat with the Mplate as a panel in the engine compartment. It had to go somewhere, right? You could have put the Mplate on the fresh air ducting like a later bus I suppose..... do syncros have it in the engine compartment?
Killer build. just killer

How's performance of the Vintage Air AC? Is it able to get the front of the bus cold in hot weather? How many BTUs?

Not sure yet, only heat is hooked up right now... heat is more than adequate though. I do plan on adding another vintage air heat/ac to the rear but haven’t gotten to it yet. Good little unit though.

Very happy, as I cross things like vibrations and rattles off of the list I get happier and happier with it.

Well, I’m so stoked with this bus I decided I should do it again.
Hopefully someone out there more skilled than myself will start making
A steering knuckle and rack and pinion set up so that people are able to adapt
the Audi drivetrain to there bay beams in the future. Because there is nothing like an awd bus.
Someone get on that, in the meantime out comes the sawzall.

Dude that is insane!!!! I love it!!!!!! i've been talking about that for awhile now. Just afraid to start cutting/ modding and know it would probably cost a fortune.

Still not sure how to YouTube correctly...

Thanks everyone. It has been a great bus, just finished installing a diesel heater and finished up the electrical in the camper kit. Moab next weekend.

Ha thanks man, nothing wrong with a 2wd bus! I just wanted to save 5 minutes going up the canyon without chaining up, so I blew 3 years on this bitch. 😀😂

Funny you should bump this thread, as it's 4sale now..
you can buy the VW Bus that VW never (mass) produced.
Kris is a little bit of Dr Frankenstein, mad scientist extraordinaire.

ps you can't buy a Syncro Westy for $25k, nor a engine swapped bay camper for that either..

Syncro conversion completed a year ago, I love this bus. It has a eurovan westfalia kit installed, and diesel heater. Jetta 2.0 aba engine. I still consider this bus a project but have driven it all over through all terrain and weather conditions. I have it up for sale because I am currently building my split window syncro and would love to throw some resources at the project to finish it over winter.

This is most of the pictures through the build.

Completely badass. I can’t even imagine having 4wd in a camper!

Thanks again you guys for appreciating my bus.
I am hoping that it is for sale long enough for me to come up with the funds another way, wife still won't let me part out her syncro for my new mad endeavor. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I toy with the idea of selling the bus every now and then but usually come to my senses quickly enough. Any way it is still out here doing what I built it for 2 years many many rough terrain miles and zero complaints out of it.
