I am tearing down my first Classic VW project in my garage in Bloomsburg PA. Was wondering if there are any members on here that live near me? Would love to have someone close by to bounce ideas off of. I am working on a 71 Super Beetle and would like to borrow the Torque Multiplier Tool when it comes time to installing my lightened flywheel.
Appreciate the help in advance! |

Or if you have O'Reilly's around there, their loaner torque wrench goes to 250 ft lbs. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. We don’t have O’Reilleys in PA. The major parts places areound here are; Advance Auto, AutoZone, NAPA, Carquest (owned by advanced auto now), Pep Boys and National auto. _________________ Formerly known in the forums as "OVALTEEN"

Or.....if you plan to do a flywheel or two in the future.....you can buy a 3/4" drive 50-300 ft lb torque wrench from Harbor Freight for $79.
Dig around for sales and coupons...and I bet you can get it for less. The HF torque wrenches have been shown repeatedly in tests all over the web....to be as accurate or even slightly better than any average click type mechanical torque wrench.
Yes. There are much tighter tolerance, better built wrenches available.....but the HF tolerances are the same +/- range as almost any general use torque wrench like Kobalt, Craftsman etc.
