My Berrien Nostalgia build is coming along slow but steady. My current area of attention is the shortened 60 Beetle chassis. The frame head is badly rusted and needs to be replaced. I read somewhere that the caster setting needs to be changed with shims behind the front beam for better handling when the chassis is set up for a fiberglass buggy. It seems like if I knew the correct angle, I could set the caster when welding on the new head, eliminating the need for shims. Any inputs would be appreciated. |

Weld the frame head on normally. It would be easier to play with shims to get it right than trying to get the exact angle with welding. At least you are thinking about things that make a buggy work right. Tom _________________ Manxter #16, 1968 Meyers Manx & Kick-Out SS #16 (WIP)
