It is original paint. I hope that’s not to much patina but she’s been sitting in her same spot in a field for over 53 years and hasn’t moved. Sun and weather tend to do that.

2 owners, books and books of history. Scratches down the passenger side from the original owner having a heart attack and putting it through a barb wire fence.

Very cool, thanks for the link.

Lots of neat photos in there. Went to many VW shows at the old West Side location in the 80's and 90's.

Love the bullet hole 15 window on the pole.

Wow, great info. Wonder where the 15 Window ended up? That area is so built up compared to those early days.
