|
|
I'm working on my 1970 fastback and starting on the brakes. The master cylinder is in bad shape inside and I'll be replacing it. The current one I pulled off is a 5 port with 1 tail light plug and a warning light plug. Any that I search to purchase from a few sites come up as a 6 port.
The VW repair manual shows the set up I have with 1 port for each front brake and one port for both the rear brakes.
The car currently has one line running from the master to the rear brakes. I'll be replacing it - it leaks too
I don't have the skills to rebuild my current one. Any thoughts or advice welcome! Thanks!!

I had one of those MC's like you posted, and had Jim Adney rebuild it for me. I think he said it was a Japanese manufactured replacement from the 70's if I remember right. Parts are available to rebuild it, but I can't tell you if it uses ATE parts or FAG parts.
All new MC's are 5 port just like the one pictured. It's just the lay out of the ports that are different, and you'll need a longer left front hard line. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
