Am I missing a source for 15x5.5 wide 5 sprinstars in an acceptable offset? |

Ordered today. Concept 1 still has bbt sprintstars in stock in black and grey. Decent price and if you email and talk to them the shipping is more than reasonable. Don't go through website the shipping quote is high. Curtis was great to deal with. |

The 5.5" Sprintstars don't fit well on lowered VW's because they are too dished shape. 5.5" 2.0 liter wheels fit better lowered because they have a flatter face. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

I hate to say this Mike but I really wasn't able to conceptualize what you were saying. How would it be that so many people are running sprintstars? Also not sure what the shape of the face of the wheels has to do with it? |

The key concept in my post is "lowered VW's", since there wouldn't be any point asking us if 15X5.5 sprintstars would fit on a stock height VW.
I'll let somebody else try to explain to you how the fit differs with deep dish & flat faced wheels. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Ok. I got the lowered part. I didn't ask if 15x5.5 sprinstars would fit. Maybe you need to read the original post again? Even if I had I still don't quite get what the face of the wheel has to do with fitment ? The rim width, offset maybe? If it is a poorly made wheel and the mounting hub is crap, maybe? There are plenty of beetles running 5.5 sprinstars without a single post that I could find of anyone complaining that the face wasn't shaped right and wouldn't fit. Makes no sense. |

You didn't tell us what you were putting them on or ask a complete question, so we were guessing at what you actually wanted to know! _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

No, I didn't Mike. The question was what is the source for 5.5 wide sprinstars? You read additional needs or info into the question. Take it at face value, answer the question or don't if you don't know. I didn't ask you to give me fitment info, and I answered my own question when I found a source. Then you chimed in with your pointless vague additional info. Thanks for trying anyway |

You also asked about an acceptable offset. Acceptable for what combination? And then you get snarky with a guy trying to pass on information to someone that he doesnt know or how much he knows etc....ride height, suspension type, brake type all affect the acceptable offset, none of which you supplied.
If you just wanted a point of purchase you shouldn't have stated " with an acceptable offset"

15x5.5s work fine on an early bug with short stock swing axles even lowered hard. Works fine on a slammed bus with long bug swing axles with fat meats. These On the rear are the max offset bbt's that match the original offset of empi sprints. But 4.5s on the front.
