Thanks Neil, those don't look too bad but the price seems pretty steep. Think they would at least galvanize em for $41.50 a pop plus. I was hoping for some cheap, Chinese knock offs I could strip down and leave in the rain for a couple weeks so they would match the $100 rack I have. Maybe I will have to buy one of those old used crappy repops or just trade this rack off as-is for something I need...

If that’s a real Westy rack.... you may have scored it for $100... but it’s a $1,000+ rack (all day long). Virtanen’s stuff is *tits*... just need to be electro-galvanized. Way better than those stainless turds.

Yep. One screw. Are these everywhere? Where can I get one that matches the others?

Have you tried a fastener shop?
If you are in USA, tried searched thru the fastener aisle in Ace hardware? _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

OK, whew...try one of the cargo door strap fasteners to see if it's the same. Some have slot oval head but some have phillips round head. What's yours?
Somewhere there's a Westy diagram that shows all the fasteners and sizes. |

Original clamps sell for 80-100 if you can find them. The Chinese rack clamps are crap without a doubt. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

I'm pretty sure these are NOT correct Westy curtain sliders but I just found them in a box of VW stuff I got a while back so I don't want to throw them away if I am wrong. Please let me know, even if they are later than Split Bus - Bay or whatever:
They say Silent Gliss and 3533 on them (hard to see) _________________ How to Post Photos

Not split bus for sure but usable for either bay or split I think. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

OK with me or even start a new thread called "June '67 Westy outlet location".
I felt guilty keeping on posting in this thread about it but my fingers wouldn't stop. |

I'm in need of an SO23 Dining table and everything for the hatch except the hatch itself (latches, aluminum trim, etc). I have an extra wiring harness and brackets for the interior clamshell lights if anyone needs them.
Has anyone made their own table? I think I could make something functional if I had measurements and pics...
Thanks. _________________ "My ex-wife had a hint of a beard and she looked like a manly-girl... that made no difference..."

I will be photographing the parts im willing to get rid of. They are big kitchen cabinet, closet and rear head banger. Not sure about shipping yet, at least for the kitchen cabinet... its HUGE! _________________ '66 Westfalia SO44

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

Friends, I sold my bus, but I still have a small parts hoard. I have some SO 42 stuff, 1967 only stuff, and general stuff. Before I take it to CTS in May I want to ask you if you know of a hungry Sambino to whom I can donate a thing or two? Logistics? I guess the best way is to ask if I have something he or she needs. If you’re in a squeeze I’ll trust you if you need it.
I intend to sell some of it , but if you want to try to help me try help to someone in need whom you know or someone whom you know of, send me a PM. If any of you want anything I can bring it to CTS or you can wait until I post ads.
Thanks Craig |
