This picture right here is absolutely badass - the colors, angle, and BACON. Any insight into the Dent's company, whether they're still around in some capacity or another? Congratulations on the find, very cool. _________________ ,,Wenige Menschen denken, und doch wollen alle entscheiden.'' -der Alte Fritz

From what I can find they sold a few years ago. Now called Dents Sausage Co. Here is a newspaper article from 1955. They started out in 1905

These are junkyard photos I took of a logo van from the 7up bottling plant in Buffalo, N.Y. I snapped these in about 1981 in the junkyard of Country Volkswagen in West Falls, N.Y. At the time (and probably still) this was the coolest VW van I'd ever seen. I like old soda collectibles, love old VW vans, and come from Buffalo, so this van checked all the boxes for me. At the time it was inconceivable that I could drag it out of its final resting place, but I wish I had. (The NO written on the back indicates I couldn't even if I wanted to.) A few years later it was gone.
The door logos say SEVEN UP BUFFALO SALES CO. INC. Everything about it, the color combination, the logos, the theme, I just fell in love with.
On the rear hatch is a painting of a slanted 7up bottle with the words QUALITY KING. The logos were sensational!
The parrot logo on the side was "Freshup Freddie," who was actually a repurposed Disney character, turned into a mascot for 7up in the late '50s. The side logos say:
That's what I said
NOTHING
DOES IT LIKE
SEVEN-UP!
Years ago I had the dream to build a replica of this van, but it never came together, and a year ago I ended up logoing my dream van to another one of my favorite themes (pictured on the previous page), so the 7up van will probably never be done (at least not by me), so rather than leave these photos sit in a drawer forever, I decided to share them with The Samba universe. Sharper images could be made of the details of these photos for anyone interested in replicating this bus. I will then be very envious of that bus. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

7-UP used to be my favorite. I could milk a 12 oz returnable bottle fresh out of the reefer using teeny lip sucks making every bubble and flavor pop all the way to the bottom. Of course it gives you a philtrum hickey. I'm jealous of your dream bus. |

Speaking of 7up buses
I still like the junkyard one better, even if it's not a barndoor. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

No fair posting a picture without naming the alien. I'd give my left and right _ _ _ for that scooter. |

So today I went to work on cleaning up the logos and paint on the bacon bus. It made a big difference. Made the blue paint and lettering pop!
