I just moved my filter to under the tank.
Is it okay to leave it hanging or should I zip tie it to the brake line?
Maybe I should make a bracket and screw to firewall?
What has been done by those that place the filter under the tank, Glenn?
I put extra length of hose before and after the filter to make it easier to replace.
Thanks,

I'd secure it to something. _________________ Glenn

It's hanging freely. Could I just zip tie it to itself where the lines cross? Wound that be too much strain on the tank elbow? _________________ 1968 Ghia Coupe AKA "Harley"

Zip it to the brake line.
Or get a clamp and put a screw in the bulkhead.

So I found a electric conduit hanger at Home Depot, had a piece of aluminum flat bar and stair tread carpet and come up with this. I placed a strip of carpet around the filter so it wouldn't rub on clamp. I just used the drain hole already in the metal so I didn't add any holes to the car. There's still room around the mount so water can drain. Looks like it will work well.

part number of that filter |
I converted my fuel line to 5/16". From the tank, thru the tunnel, up to the fuel pump. The interchangeable part numbers are:
33324, 33463, GF168, 513, G477, 512, CH1, PFB53190
I think this filter has the stock hose size that can be used. Plastic but has in and out pointed to the same side.

I have to say, I like this idea of getting the filter out of the engine bay.
Since I am fairly new to the KG world, how hard is it to get to this area on the side of the road if you have a possible issue and need to check the filter?
Obviously Changing the filter after an x number of miles or x number of years would be best. |

Someone should make a combination distributor cap and fuel filter mount.
Better yet, just manufacture it from clear plastic and incorporate the fuel filter right into the distributor cap itself!
That would be Da BOMB! |
