Hello all,

I'm looking for the 45-55mm long machine screws that hold the turn signal/wiper assembly together. The appear to be 3mil screws with a fine thread. Local hardware stores are stumped and my only local scrap vanagon is already missing them. Anyone have a source?

These are the screws that are located behind the steering wheel and hold that sandwich of plastic and metal together that makes the turn signal, hi/low wiper assembly work right.

For some completely unknown reason (previous previous owner?) all three are missing.

Thanks!

Jon

McMaster Carr has every sort of screw you could desire:

When ordering if you ask for "cheapest shipping" they will usually ship small packs of fasteners flat-rate USPS which is very affordable.

I found long thin screws - don't recall if metric - at a local hobby shop. They're used by RC cars and plane builders.

Morning Vanagon brother;

Here’s a tip on how to locate parts for your Van:

Step one, find the part #
- you need to look up a parts catalogue to find the number. Here’s a link to one : https://7zap.com/en/
Now you have an accurate description of the part you seek and a VAG part #

- copy the number and search it on the web. Better yet, go to a Vanagon specific parts supplier and enter the number in their search field.

The bolts you need are available. Be aware that the threads in the lock housing which they thread into can be easily stripped out and may in Fact already be.
