The espresso Flipseat actually is a so 36. Has a Dormobile roof!
But I ofcourse agree: interior is/was so 35, wooden surface cabinets.
This is a big hatch Dormobile so35 Westy flipseat which is in first hand. The owners, a big cafemachine dealer, modified it from new to a rolling Espressobar!!
The "flipseat" Coffee was reeeaaaal tasty.
Nothing is molested or badly cut. The three bedparts are stored inhouse. The Espressomachine and cups etc ... is installed since new on the bedframe. They even have the WestyPrivy tent still at home. Bus is since new (1964) in this family!!

Hi DJ...Do you recall the color of this Bus? The description of late door handles, 67 dash (radio hole), etc. sounds like a Bus a buddy of mine just took a look at. I don't have much info yet, but thinking it is same Bus? Most resembles 62-63 SO35. Navy on bottom, silver on top w/ later orange decklid. I know this was 2.5 years ago, but any further info you remember (price, location, etc.) would be appreciated. Thx _________________ aka KennyFL

And a new one to the list. Seems to be in fair shape and pretty much complete!
This one is in the US which is pretty uncommon. SO35 wasn't a regular option in the USA. It's most likely Tourist Delivery
Update: It turned out to be a Turkish SO35. Paint removal revealed this:

This 1963 SO35 barn find was just posted on the Westy Facebook page. It's a dealer barn find and will most likely be listed soon. Great color combo.

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |
