Yes on maps. Can't even count the times I meet younguns in the bush whose phone or GPS maps have failed. This includes PCT and CDT hikers.

I show them a contour map to display where they are, and how to tell, but they have no idea what they're looking at, or what the lines mean -- or how to save themselves. I tell them to buy maps and learn to read them, as backup if nothing else, they tell me they'll bring more batteries next time.

These folks contribute to the beauty of our National Parks by providing bears with food.

And
A P-touch label maker to label mileage and date of items replaced affixed to the engine cover area.
A P-touch label on left top of windshield with next oil change mileage on it.

No Wifi needed, no computer crashes that lose all your information.

IMHO......
Way too much dependance upon computers today for simple tasks best done other ways.

Thanks for sharing though, I'm sure there are many out there who don't own a pencil today.

P-touch!?!? Goodness, there's way too much dependence on P-touch for simple tasks best done in other ways. P-touch is an inefficient, toxic-battery dependent, landfill bloating prop for people who should be using grease pencil like we did when men were men and sheep were nervous.

OP, thanks for sharing your spreadsheet. I heart ideas for capturing helpful information (except for p-touch, that thing is ruining us).

As for data such as this, I prefer a database format with records (rows) for each activity. This allows for more easily creating different views and visualizations.

Ptouch is WAY better than the old hard plastic Dymo labels with the individual letter punch tool!
Though I DID LOVE playing with that modern technology, way improved over the old grease pencil and scared sheep!

Still use a grease pencil though for Lumber ID ...........

A Dymo label maker? I haven't seen one for decades......

Wait! They still make them!!

Ha! I'd completely forgotten about this stage of labeling evolution. I wonder where they're used nowadays?
