Yeah that looks pretty sick brother. Nice attention to detail with that stance. I thought in the end that stretched front would look weird, but it doesn't. Looks killer.
Nice to be able to see what was going on in your head all this time. Keep it up and you'll be in all the mags for sure! |
Agreed. It's looking good too. Definitely nice attention to detail, and that detail work will show in the end. Nice. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

back on it this week,
finally got the steering column in the right place so this meant i could start to get the dash fitted. had to cut the dash in half to get the clocks central and then add a 50mm strip to make it look right. i have also moved the dash out 100mm as well so that needed a strip making and welding in, overall it looks pretty good but the dash cover pad is going to need a fair bit of modding to make it look right.
today i have been on with mounting the rear bumper. i have put new panels where the bumper used to mount so i have made up some brackets that are welded to the chassis. in order to fit the bumper to the new brackets i moved the brackets on the bumper in 75mm and welded them in and with a bit of trimming the bumper now fits nice and close to the body, i still have to cut the ends off for a nice clean look.
made up these nice stands out of 3"x2" wood and they work a treat.
more soon |

The dash setup kinda reminds me of a bay window set up with the metal strip up against the windshield. Maybe you could add bay window vents to the strip? |

Your fab skills do not disappoint but amaze. Congrats on getting your dash together - nicely done sir! Maybe a nice pad on the strip would cover the extended dash kinda overlap the edge of the dashpad up front. Looks great though. _________________ MonT3

i like the idea of using the bay window dash vents,
been very busy, heres a few pics.
the wing edge wanted moving about 10mm to make it line up again,
with the wings sorted it was time to move onto the fuel tank.
made up some mounts and got it fitted.
and today i got the boot floor cut out and bead rolled.
loads of bits to come this week so im hoping for loads of progress in the next few weeks. |

thanks for the comments,
bit more done, steering now done so i took the fastty of its blocks and put it on the floor to add some weight just to make sure it all works as it should. to do that i had to strip the front back off so i thought i show you some pics with out all the panels on.
another thing i wanted to do was replace the mx5 handles with some early type 3 units. made up some new door skins to hold the handles and started to weld one in.
also made up a plan of how im going to stretch the bonnet as i do have a nice big gap.

What’s the difference between the two? One is a skilled craftsmen with a solid thought out plan, the other likes his cars to resemble fruit.

dont think its a case of did it get finished more the why did it get started,
to be fair the idea probably started of with the right intention but just got a bit lost in the conception. |
