Morning Guys,
I took out the rear seat yesterday and noticed that there looks like a strap and another section of parcel shelf attached to the back of the seat.
Can anyone help me know what it's for and how to use it.
Thank you

That strap is designed to hold down the seat if you fold it forward for extra space in the luggage tray. The part the looks like an extension of the back seat is just meant to cover the gap between the luggage tray and rear seat. Check out this page from the manual:

Yep. To use the rear flap as a luggage area cover, tilt the backrest forward slightly. Reach around and pull the flap up so that it is higher than level to the ground. Push the backrest rearward until it locks. Then just drop the flap. The rear long edge of the flap will rest on the top edge of the luggage area carpet. |

It's great that you still have yours. It would seem that during the car's first go around with slip on seat covers (usually the cheap snap on basketweave all through the 80s) that these cardboard covers got discarded. Odd that they are really becoming kinda rare. _________________

Thank you for posting these pictures. I rebuilt my packagecshelf earlier this year but didn’t know that the straps connected back to the seat back. _________________ Justin
