Anyone had success changing the tumbler on a new ignition lock so that it can use the same key as the rest of the locks? I think all EV’s use the AH style key, but just in case mine is a 2001 flip key style. I’ve read a few posts where people we not successful, but wanted to see if anyone had success. Otherwise, I will re-key the rest of the locks to match the new ignition key. |

Yes I did rekey the ignition switch to match our 2000 EV. It was a major Pain to get the end cylinder cover piece off. Once the cover ring is removed you knock the roll pin out from the rear and it comes apart. -Louie _________________ 2018 MK7.5 GTI “Pearl”

You have to put the cylinder in a GENTLE vice and just spread the ring off. Slowly. -Louie _________________ 2018 MK7.5 GTI “Pearl”
