Thanks for the video Ben! Let us know when you get the rsfab kit video up, I have one to install and so does a friend. He is still waiting on his kit from the black Friday sale
I also suggest test fitting the shift rod to the subanose as soon as you get the kit. Mine doesn't fit... _________________ '89 Westy - EJ25/22 Frank 4.44 5mt

Ben:
I would like to know if you had any issue with the clutch pedal travel?
Even if I had the BRZ slave cylinder with a 21mm bore, I had to put a stopper on the clutch pedal to reduce the travel to almost half.
Without the stopper, the clutch fingers were touching the clutch disk preventing gear engagement.

Hi Math, I have use the stock transmission slave and it's perfect, friction point is about half way. Perfect in my book. I'm not sure that I get your problem?
I have seen somewhere people using the BRZ slave but I don't get why?
The slave need to be primed with oil of course. Master need to be solid or replace.
May you explain that 21mm bore to me??? This is simple hydraulic, unless the master is mess up and that happen often when it goes when it never when before.

On my van, the pressure point is more at the third of the pedal displacement. Even if I have the bigger slave (which should increase pedal travel). So the last 2/3 are just moving the clutch bearing further until the pedal is close to the floor, then the clutch start to « bite » again. After removing the transmission I found rubbing marks between the clutch fingers ans the clutch disk.
By putting a stopper on the pedal, it prevent the clutch bearing from going too far and hitting the disk.
Is it ok for the pedal to go all the way to the floor, or is my master mess up?
The bigger slave cylinder (21 vs 19mm) should reduce the force on the pedal and increase its displacement for a given distance on the slave, but I already have the 21 mm and my pedal travel is still too short.
My issue seem similar to the small car clutch bearing going too far, except that the consequence are far less problematic. |

What trans are you using? Push clutch, or Pull clutch? Also are you using a stock flywheel and clutch/PP?
I have driven a conversion with the stock 19mm slave and I agreed it wasn't ideal. I am planning on using the 21mm slave also. You are the first I have heard of that has problems with the 21mm slave...Please let us know if you find a solution why you are getting too much travel with the larger slave.
thanks. _________________ '89 Westy - EJ25/22 Frank 4.44 5mt
