Whoa , went by there today to see the cold windy blown flat surf and the whole Surf Check Coffee Shop and Cliffside Auto Repair are kaput. The whole lot is cleared out kit and caboodle.
Hey Fish, you bus is getting ocean rust on it btw. |

The shop lost their lease. Surf check sub-leased. Rumor is Surf check will be back if they can sub-lease from new renters.
Yes, this is why it is for sale. Can't have anything nice when this close to the ocean.

As seen in The San Diego Log; a waterfront newspaper.
The text of the article reads:
"Laza is the owner of Central Coast Electric Boats, which is located at Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard, California. He and his wife spent the beter part of one year redesigning a 1996 Duffy Cat 16' Electric Boat to look like a classic 1967 VW Bus.
The Duffy redesign is turquoise in color. It looks just like a VW van, complete with a smoke machine to create exhaust, stereo system to project a motor revving sound, original steering and knob, underwater lights to glow during night cruises and a knot-meter repurposed to resemble a speedometer." |
