The zip ties that snap into the T shaped studs under the van?
VW changed the part design for the later model cars but kept the part number the same. They are worse than NLA, you can order them but they are regular zip ties that you can source from anywhere but they are over $1 each. |

Your local electrical jobber will likely have quality wire ties. A decent FLAPS will also have a book listing all kinds of plastic fasteners. |

Normal zip ties won't suffice since the goal of this particular zip tie is to attach the wiring harness to the frame rail.
Here are some pics of a broken one:

FWIW...Easily available at any hardware are screw mounted zip ties.
Though they will not have the easy on off two hole as the ones you pictured, but just a single sized screw hole.

The factory zip ties are put into place in one opening then slid over to the other opening and held in place with a small metal stud welded to the body, not a screw.
I had VC order me some with the correct part number when the were in santa cruz, what arrived were standard zip ties. I am not aware of a source for new ones but I am interested in getting some for my vans as well. |

I ordered a couple of these to replace the broken cable tie points that support the battery cable. ( and the broken hydraulic line clip above the fuel tank which it is designed for)

A conventional cable tie can be secured to it. A better solution would be to have a strong base printed that would accept a wide cable tie through a loop or slot. Any 3d print experts out there? Hint hint. _________________ 1990 Orly Blue Carat |

Hi guys, a fellow only identified as "vandriver" contacted me on Shapeways to make some of these. Pretty simple task and will try and have them loaded to shapeways by the end of the week if we can work together.
I am currently away from my measuring tools and van, so although I can do the scribble the measurements are totally made up.
Is this roughly what you fellows are thinking?
this image has the top removed and I pretty much need all the measurements, My CAD is set up in mm, so please if anyone was the chassis clip and a vernier caliper that reads in mm put some numbers here with paint and resubmit it so we can move forward.
