Fantastic job on the engine compartment repaint!
I have a '71 Ghia and want to go with Fuch repops as well. Can you please share what sizes/offsets, tire sizes that you used. (narrowed beam?) The stance that you achieved is very nice.

Rear-

I wouldn’t mind going lower in front, but the roads here are pretty terrible
Hope this helps _________________ 1972 Karmann Ghia |

I figured I’d update my build for posterity’s sake. I finally got my 2387 built after 2 years of dealing with silliness.
Finally took the stocker out
The new engine is quite a bit heavier with the aluminum case. But I bought a transmission jack that I hope helps make r&r a little less straining as I imagine it’ll have to be removed several times to get things right. We’ll see.

Got the new Harbor freight trans. Jack hooked up and secured, I think it might be an improvement. In the mean time installed a sensorconnection cht lead, and modified the bodywork for the wider motor. Only picture I took...

Oh wait, evidently I took another pic. I like being able to controllably tilt the engine, just hope it tilts enough.

I like your engine lift. I bought a motorcycle lift from harbor freight, works great. Can manually tilt using muffler tips during engine installation. Getting good at doing it myself without any help. Any progress with the engine installation? _________________ My 70 beetle was totaled Now to build the Ghia I always wanted. The lift worked great. Really helped due to the added weight of the aluminum case.
I’ve had it running for a couple months, it pulls really strong and is a blast to drive. I’m looking to install an aux. oil cooler cause with the full Hoover mod.’s and aluminum case the oil temp can get up to 240 pretty quick, heads stay nice and cool though.
