Thanks Barry, may not be Barrett Jackson quality but I am trying to make it look good. Can wait for paint almost there.

Absolutely awesome build on this bus; Im right behind you on welding projects and Im seeing a lot of moves Im going to make (i.e inner spot welds on rockers). I have one tech question for you: whats the compressor you're using? I can see it in the background of a few pics...Im finally going to get one, but don't want a monster that can't be moved around a little bit; Im realizing the limitations of corded vs air tools in the small spaces. Thx!

Bruce here is a pic of the compressor I am using. I use a combination of air and electric drills. I use an electric drill for grinding down the heavy part of the weld then use a air angle grinder for smoothing out. That way I am not having the compressor running all day. It works well and have had it for years. I will be getting a bigger one for my new shop soon Wink Cool

Velvetgreen, I get a chance during down times late in the afternoon at times, sometimes I am out in the bay at 1 or 2 late in the evening just to get things done. Trust me can’t wait to finish Very Happy

This pic is at my friends place getting panels prepped for paint!

Lots of great work here to watch. Can you tell us about the materials you are using for the seats? Are those seat pads off the shelf? If not, what materials are you using?

That looks great! Fellow firefighter too! I try to bring little things to the firehouse to work on, and inevitably, we get calls whenever I do! lol

I like the driver route. Our buses were meant to be driven and enjoyed. I don't think I could enjoy driving something with a $15k paint job.

What did you use to make these corner panels? I tried masonite and it cracked.

Thank you for the comments. Yes being at the Fire station does limit the amount of work but I try Very Happy . To be honest I really can’t afford a big money paint job, I build my busses to enjoy with my family, plus I am building a new house so that option was a no go. As for the roof panels and rear quarter panels and kick panels, they are 1/8” 5’x5’ Birch Panels. They work great and give the right amount of flex. For the rest like front doors, cargo, long panel, quarter panel, rear hatch panels I used Lowe’s Luan style panels. Should be posting new pics of panels installed and bus finished soon. Thanks, Peter
Oh yeah the heater plugs were in the plumbing Dept at Lowe’s Wink Cool

Picked up the Bus today and Thanks to Chris from Zero Defects Auto Detailing in Braselton, Ga for his Hard Work, Professionalism and Friendship. He went Above and Beyond on this Bus and it Truly Looks Amazing. I Highly Recommend Chris, Incredible Attention to Detail and Workmanship. Almost ready, can’t wait to get out and cruise this Bus with the Family. Wink Cool

Thanks Linda, Pearl White is actually one of my favorite colors for a bus.
I think it’s cool 😎, but VW did have some great colors and have many more that are cool as well, PGSG, Dove Blue, Sealing Wax Red, Turkis, Mouse Grey etc. Wink Considering vintage logos on this one and have several ideas may post one or two of them soon. Thanks again, Peter

GERMANAIRE, please post some of those logo ideas as I often struggle with my pearl white as being dull but you got my heart pumping with yours and pearl white is a perfect canvas for logos. Being a sticker gal I love the sticker bus but I prefer logos of any kind. Got love the sticker bus (forgot the name).
