I say L87 all the way since using mouse gray would be stealing from my idea in the first place
Jst kidding, Pearl white is boring and my Westy was that originally but will not be that color when I am done! |

Robert - you may be right - that white looks a bit brighter than Pearl. Not sure. As far using Mango - don't do it! I nchose it because it looks nice AND there aren't many that combo around. Uniqueness and yet still having the VW flavor. You live far enough away - go for it! _________________ Sanborn7

This was an L87 bus until the "One Day-Earl Scheib-Dont know how to paint" bodymen got ahold of mine. They painted everything that couldnt be masked. Its okay...for now, but evertime I bump it, paint chips.
I love the bus, kamper kit...etc, etc, but as for the color, my first words are, "What the heck? was the previous owner thinking..." Maybe he was a smurfin smurf lover. "What the smurf was he smurfin when he smurfin drove it down there for the smurfin paint job.?"

My friend, Bruce Journeay, took his '66 L87 Westfalia and went the two tone route below with velvet green...... looks quite fine as well.
I can say keeping the Pearl White on my '67 makes the small things stand out. The silver white bumpers and wheel rims, grey hubcaps, addition of vintage travel decals for color, and the accessories.... rack, side steps, etc. No way of mistaking this for a later model bay if all Pearl White....
Anyway final choice is yours....... and thanks for the earlier compliment!

I like white vehicles.
Easy to maintain...easy to repair...and usually look like they are clean, even though they may have some grime on 'em.
My bus?
Well...I KNEW I was being decadent, so instead of doing it stock SW red all over (panel conversion), I went with black below the beltline.
Non-stock.
Classy, but non-stock.
Have had this bus almost 15 years, no intention of getting off it, so I really don't give a damn what anyone says...it's nice.
You don't like it...zip your lip, it might get fat.
Sooooo, really? I LIKE white...sounds really cool...in your case, my vote would be with white. |

i think that'd look better with the emblem also painted in blue....seems like one to many colors on the body work there... _________________ Wish List:

I vote for being different. Leave it stock height and a single color. Ever see how nice Crofty's bus looks? |
Thanks for the compliment.
I only had the outside of my bus re-sprayed ( in '98 ) but if I had a low milage bus I wouldn't even consider a paint job other than what it came with.
Stick with the solid color, get's my vote.

Well, I thought that I'd give you guys an update. No disrespect to the Pearl White buses out there, but I decide to paint my bus with a two tone scheme. I'm sure pearl white would have been good too, but I think it came out okay!
