Curious if I would have any issues keeping a 1776 cool in the Doka, whereas the cylinder walls are thinner on the 90.5's
Thoughts?
I'm wanting a comfortable, drivable engine. Not worried about burnouts and loud pipes, I want function and dependability.

Pm'd Aeromech, thanks Bill.

If you by the style that need to be machined to fit the heads and cylinder spigots on the case, they are not thin walled and will not have any overheat issues due to wall thickness.

Have a look at my single carb 1776 here.

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=696393&highlight=

I am very happy with it.

79HP @4500 RPM with a single Solex 34 PICT 3 (larger, 28mm venturi and re-jetted) from [email protected]. Plenty of torque even at low RPMs.

Note: A lot of thought and non-stock internals have gone into this engine.

With more stock parts and the same carb and a decent exhaust 70hp and good torque should be relatively easy.

Suits the bus perfectly in my opinion and keeps the stock look and simplicity.

Stefan
