Does anyone know if the steering wheel the knobs and the grab bar were always black in dove blue busses ? I have seen some very original doveblue with ivory inside.

What year?

A 1960s Westfalia could have white parts.

Do you mean a dash grab bar?
A dash grab bar could be any color on Bus before 1962 - it would be an accessory.

1963 in a so33 westy. yes I mean the dash grab bar, i believe they were always mounted at the factory from 1962, but not sure.

Yes, those plastic bars are always white until the time of Bay Windows.

Trying to mix dove blue using Rustoleum oil based paint from Home Depot on my 58 singlecab.
Depending on the light it changes radically. Flame on, give me opinions, even close on the color?
Oh yeah, using a roller, paint very thinned, wet sanding the orange peel from the first coat.
So far, about $30, problem is the truck is getting too valuable to screw around with, looks like really fake patina.

Thanks, but see how it jumps around? Looks way different here, making the process for a nonpro ridiculously hard

I have an auto paint supply shop and they will put automotive paint into rattle cans. It's a bit more pricy but will definitely come out a lot better.

The photo above looks pretty good to me but flat

This photo looks weird to me, like it's metallic or has a weird shine but the bumper looks as good as the pic above

I live in SoCal and oil based airborne paint is a no-no (speaking technically) so locally Rustoleum in cans is it. I have tried the “paint match “ aerosol, but not even close to right. I use the original paint in the cab for my matching attempts.

Thanks Everett, what you see is the wet sand on the orange peel, when cut and polished that disappears, the bumpers are ‘done’.

I'm in socal as well. We may not be able to get oil based but we can still get a single stage paint that's not to horrible. I've used it to touch up my bus in a couple spots.
